Definitely the best tacos I've had in Texas. I am so glad we got here early around 11am because when we walked by this placed later in the afternoon the line was at least an hour long. I ordered barbacoa and chicken tacos, both of which were delicious. I've had better tacos at the famous locations in Mexico City before, but these are about as good as they get in Texas.

Fair warning about the red sauce- it's spicy. If you have a weak stomach or are intolerant to spice don't add it. I love spicy food and it was a lot even for me.

To start, I am from Mexico so my expectations for good Mexican tacos are hi.

I decided to try this place after seeing the high reviews and because I was in the area.  The place was very busy when I got there and there was a line, so I though this was a good sign.

After ~20 min, I got up to the window and gave my order then was asked to pay and SURPRISE...CASH ONLY!  Come on...with all the business they have can't they spare a few bucks to put up a sign that states that before you wait in line to find out.  Luckily she took my order and there was a gas station right next to it so I was able to get some cash with $3.00 withdrawal fee.

I had these two orders of tacos:

    1.  Fajita, carne asada, chorizo, al pastor, and lengua.  (for me)
    2.  Fajita, al pastor. (for the person with me)

The order came out in a to go bag and like the sign (that I guess they can afford) said "Check Your Order".  So I did and was missing limes and the tacos didn't have enough cilantro/onion like I like.  So i made sure I got both.

Ok now on to eating.  I was starving and when you are starving almost everything taste great.  Sad to say but not these tacos!

    Pros
      - The horchata was ok
      - The prices were fair

    Cons
      - My #1...the fajita, carne asada, chorizo and al pastor are all cooked in the same flat grill.  The flavors were so mixed they all tasted the same.  I might of even been ok with it if they tasted good but they did not.  The tacos were greasy and had an off-putting flavor.  The person with me had the same opinion.
      - The tortillas are dipped in oil and this is a common practice but these were very oily and you could taste a burnt oil flavor.
      -  The lengua was bland and lacking much flavor.
      -  Sometimes a good salsa can save a bad taco, but the salsas were just OK.  I had to use more lime instead to help mask the bad flavor.
      -  Like a mentioned before no sign saying it's cash only.
      -  No tables or areas to eat.

I mentioned my experience to a friend that had been there before and he said that they had decreased in quality a lot after becoming popular.

This old school taqueria has lines forming average orders larger then average. I'd heard of this place and have been meaning to try them for a long time coming. I noticed too late it was cash only. Luckily I found fare prices and a five spot in my wallet. Although, the order taker was willing to let me go to an ATM and pay at pickup. I ordered 3 tacos and green sauce. Sooooo good! Wish I could have 4 or 5 breakfasts there a week.

Fantastic small taco stand in the Bishop Arts District.  When you arrive you will see cars parked all around the tiny taco stand.  It's a no frills type of place and along the lines of a "what you see, is what you get" type of place.  They do tacos and they do them very well.  You have your choice of meat and choice of taco shell (flour or corn).  I'm corn all day.

The flavors are phenomenal and really every different taco that I had was great.  My only regret is that I only ordered 3.  If you are feeling hungry or traveling just to try these tacos out, I'd suggest getting 4-5 tacos and trying some different meats.  Bonus - The green salsa that is included is also extremely flavorful.  No doubt, the best street tacos that I had on my trip to the DFW area.

Tacos are decent, but I've had better in Dallas. The hubby and I tried both the barbacoa and beef fajita. Beef fajita meat wasn't super tender. Barbacoa was pretty tender, but could have been more flavorful. I'm not a big fan of the large corn tortillas they use and the tacos are on the greasier side from what I've had. On the plus side, the larger tortilla means a larger portion size than a mini taco. They also don't give you any lime. The green salsa here is just okay.

    Other things worth mentioning:
    -No seating
-Limited parking ( we parked on the street in Bishops Arts District and walked)
    -CASH ONLY
    -$1.75/taco
    -Elote cart on site

This place will do the job if you are craving tacos in the area, but if you are looking for the best tacos I don't think this is the place for you.
